Have you ever felt like you aren’t good enough? We are always told how great we are and how smart we are but is that how we really feel? We tend to think what we have isn’t good enough, we want to be better. But what can be better than being yourself? How often do we think that what we wear isn’t trendy enough, that our bank account isn’t high enough, our relationships aren’t good enough, and we do it so much that we don’t even realize we’re doing it! STOP!! For five seconds just stop! Give up the negative self talk right now. Say this to yourself…I AM ENOUGH…I AM STRONG…I AM ME!
One of the most toxic, non-self loving habits we have as humans is comparison. Comparing yourself to others will bring you down, steal your joy and completely ruin your relationship with yourself. Remember this, YOU are important. Isn’t that heartwarming? Yep, there is absolutely nothing wrong with you! You are amazing. Take time to realize this for yourself and you will go far and accomplish great things. Accept yourself for who you are, not what you want others to think of you. I know, I know. It’s hard. I get it. But self acceptance doesn’t mean that you do not want to change, it simply means it leads to dramatic changes in your life as you give up limited beliefs and damaging behaviors that you have adopted trying to be someone you are not.
Try remembering that happiness does not depend on the approval of others, only the approval of oneself. The secret to finding happiness and peace with your life is not trying to find out what’s wrong with it. Surround yourself with people who give you a great support system, people who bring you up and notice your strengths and values. Be kind to yourself, as well as others. Do kind things for people often. See your mistakes as an opportunity to learn, and notice what great things you do, no matter how small they are. If you have to, fake it, till you make it! Self acceptance takes time. If you find yourself having pesky negative thoughts, remember that you are important, own your potential and love yourself enough to believe in the limitless possibilities available to you. As we become more conscious of our true nature we slowly begin to realize that we are worth it, we are good, right now, today, tomorrow and for all eternity.
